Trivial Pursuit is a popular board game that tests players' knowledge in diverse areas. In the classic or genus edition of the game, questions cover such various topics as sports and leisure, geography, and arts and literature. There are also modern versions, special editions for children and families, and anniversary and decade editions. Game enthusiasts have enjoyed testing their intellect and bolstering their memory skills since Trivial Pursuit was first printed in 1981. Trivial Pursuit is a board game for one to six players or teams and was invented on December 15,1979, by Scott Abbott, a sports writer for The Canadian Press , and Chris Haney, a photo editor for Montreal's Gazette .
