STEM CELL RESEARCH at Yale University, a private university located in New Haven, Connecticut, involves members of many different academic departments and is organized through the Yale Stem Cell Center (YSCC). The mission of the YSCC, located administratively within the Yale School of Medicine, is to increase understanding of stem cell biology and use that understanding to improve human health. Haifan Lin, Ph.D., was appointed director of the YSCC in August 2006, and Diane Krause, M.D., Ph.D., serves as associate director. Members of the YSCC are scientists and physicians from a number of Yale departments who conduct fundamental, translational, clinical, or ethical research on stem cells.
