Introducing counselling into an organization carries implications for change. At one and the same time it is a supportive service for employees, and a threatening one. It is threatening in the sense that it has the potential for highlighting and unravelling issues and experiences that may be critical of the organization – messages and insights that the organization may prefer to discount, avoid or deny rather than consider and act upon.
