There has been a recent increase in ethical and legal concerns in psychological practice, but there does not appear to be a concomitant increase in training in ethics for therapists. Haas, Malouf, and Mayerson (1986) found that for a random sample of APA Division 29 (Psychotherapy) members, the modal number of hours in formal ethics training was zero.
