Invasive species and their negative environmental impacts are now recognized as a worldwide concern. Globally invasive species are affecting new environments ecologically, economically, and health-wise on a daily basis. By their very nature, invasive species are difficult to control and equally frustrating as is their human-assisted spread that is also proving just as difficult to contain.
An invasive species can be viewed as an organism that upsets the natural balance currently established in an environment. Invasive species can do this by negatively affecting any of the following: water, land, air, flora, fauna, and human populations.
