Internationalization is a key challenge for higher education today, one that is shifting in its role and scope. One of these shifts involves a move away from an activity-based approach toward one that is more strategic (Knight & de Wit, 1997). This leads to greater integration, as internationalization becomes part of vision and values and is increasingly embedded across functional areas and into policies, structures, and processes (Lewis, 2007).
