Red Latinoamericana De Antropología Jurídica (Latin American Network on Legal Anthropology)

The Red Latinoamericana de Antropología Jurídica (RELAJU; in English, the Latin American Network on Legal Anthropology) was created in Ecuador in 1997 at the 49th International Congress of Americanists. The founding members included Milka Castro (Chile), Esther Sánchez (Colombia), María Teresa Sierra (Mexico), and Teresa Valdivia (Mexico). The International Union of Anthropological and Ethnological Sciences (IUAES) and the International Association of Legal Sciences (IALS) at the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) recognize RELAJU, and it is associated with the Commission on Folk Law and Legal Pluralism, founded in 1978.
